Chase Elliott Captures 2nd Straight Daytona 500 Pole.

John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

Hello Everybody. It's hard to believe that the NASCAR Season is about to kickoff with the Biggest Race of the year, The Great American Race is coming up on Sunday. And Chase Elliott Has Captured his 2nd Straight Daytona 500 Pole with HENDRICK Teammate Dale Earnhardt Jr On the Outside of the front row.

Elliott is hoping to improve on his 37th place finish in the 500 one year ago. Chase Elliott said to reporters after his pole run " I hope we can stay cup at the front and improve from what happened last year and maybe win the 500 this time around." Elliott Is one of many favorites to win Sunday's Daytona 500 and we will see what Happens, Rick HENDRICK Said to reporters afterwards.

Elliott's Crew Chief Alan Gustafson said I didn't expect Chase to capture the pole at all. And this was totally unexpected and I am a very happy guy at the moment. But 500 Miles is a long way to go and anything can happen. We have made improvements to the car and I hope we are in Victory Lane Next Sunday

John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports
Another Happy man to be back is Dale Earnhardt Jr. He Missed the Final 18 Races of the season due to Concussion like symptoms. He Just Missed the pole. Jr { The Racer} Was disappointed not to win the pole but Jr the Driver was happy to be back in the car ready to go racing on Sunday. Jr Said to the Press after Qualifying " I am very happy to be back in the Car and I am ready to compete for the Championship. But this could Possibly Be my Final Year in NASCAR because of the Concussions I have Suffered and I am now Married and I want to enjoy Life with My New Wife."

Well we Do have at least 2 storylines to follow in Next Sunday's Daytona 500. But there could be more. Here's My take, The Run For the Pole is over. Now we get Ready for the Can-Am Duels on Thursday Night. And let me tell you there are more storylines to follow on Thursday Night. What About the Penske Team Joey LAGANO And Brad KESOLOWSKI they have to do it the Hard Way on Thursday and what about the Stewart-Hass Team they have switched From Chevrolet to Ford this season and how will they do. And what about the 7-time Champion Jimmie Johnson, how will he do. He spun in the Clash At Daytona earlier that Day and Dale Jr. was in the Fox Broadcast Booth when it happened so there could be something else to think about. The 500 is the Biggest Race of the year and anything can happen.

P.S The 500 is at 2:00 on Sunday On Fox. The Can-Am Duels are on Thursday Night and as far as my pick goes. I will give you My Pick for the 500 on Saturday Morning. So Stay Tuned.

Blue Jackets beat Penguins in Overtime.

Hello Everybody. The Columbus Blue Jackets have all of the sudden become one of the hottest Teams in the NHL. They have proven they can get the Job Done in crucial Situations. They Beat the Pittsburgh Penguins in overtime 2-1 in which many have people have said this game was going to be a playoff Preview. The atmosphere at Nationwide Arena in Columbus Ohio became a playoff atmosphere, Something that the Blue Jackets have never experienced before.

This Game had everything form a playoff atmosphere to Big Hits and a few Near Goals. I Spoke to a few fans this morning and they said they have never seen anything like this in their lives. One Fan even said it was never like this, even when the Buckeyes were winning the National Championship in College Football it was never like this. As for what Happened in the game itself. Ryan Murray started the scoring in the 2nd period with a goal. He got assists form William KARLSSON and Josh Anderson. Then Ian Cole scored the only goal for the Penguins with an assist from EVENGI Malkin. And then the game winner went to Brandon Dubinsky with assists from Cam Atkinson and Seth Jones. The Real Hero for the Blue Jackets was Goalie Sergei BOBROVSKY, 38 saves on 39 shots and only 1 goal allowed all night long. But you can't sell Penguins Goalie Matt Murray Short with 37 saves on 39 shots and 2 goals allowed all night long.

Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports
Blue Jackets head coach John TORTORELLA told reporters after the game " This Team has responded under a lot of pressure.  We are Back in a big way and the Blue Jackets have proven to some of the Nay Sayers that they are a team that can do a lot of Damage. And I will say this about the Penguins, they are a great hockey team and they have a great Group of players and they are a team we are going to have  take very seriously because we will most certainly some them again in the Playoffs." The Blue Jackets are at home Sunday against  Nashville.

Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports
Penguins Coach Mike Sullivan said to reporters afterwards " We had a playoff atmosphere last night. Our team came out ready to play but the Blue Jackets were better and we still have work to do. But we will see them again in the Playoffs because they have proven to A lot of people that they are a great team and I could not Agree More. But we will see how that fans out in the end. But they are a great Hockey Team and they are a team to contend with." The Penguins Return Home to face the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday.

Well This game had a playoff type Atmosphere. Here's my take, The Blue Jackets-Penguins have become the Browns-Steelers of the NHL. This game lived up to the Hype on Friday Night. This game had everything form Big Hits A playoff Atmosphere, Something a lot of Hockey Fans in Columbus have never seen Before. I Spoke to somebody early this morning. And they said to me. " The Game last night at Nationwide was never so loud and Crazy as it was last night. I also asked this person was it even Louder than a Buckeye Game at the Horseshoe, He Said to Me it was louder than that. Even when the Buckeyes were winning the National Championship it was nothing like it was at Nationwide Arena. So Now here's the $64.000 Question will these two teams faceoff in the Playoffs, to that question I say YES!!!!. And you better believe that these two teams want to faceoff because they are close to each other and they Absolutely, Positively HATE EACH OTHER MORE THAN THE BROWNS AND STEELERS. I would play top Dollar to see these two teams faceoff in the Playoffs. I think even Jack Edwards of NESN In Boston would enjoy this. I know I would. Well that Pretty Much sums it up. Oh one last thing before I go. I have something special for the Pittsburgh Penguins and the City of Pittsburgh and especially for Sidney Crosby.

Michigan Stuns No.11 Wisconsin.

Hello Everybody. Thursday Night the CRISLER  Arena in Ann Arbor Michigan was the Place to be if you are a Basketball Fan. The Wolverines Have won 3-games in a row. Thursday Night they Upset the No.11 Wisconsin Badgers 64-58. This win was very important to Michigan, I will get to that in a Moment. But 1st here are the Highlights of this big upset.

MORTIZ Wagner was the Hero of the Game with 21 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist. Zak Irvin was great in a supporting role with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Muhammad-Ali ABDUR-RAHKMAN also had 12 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists in this Huge Upset Victory. The Only Real Player that showed up for Wisconsin was Ethan HAPP with 22 points,6 rebounds and 6 assists.

This was a great win for Michigan as a matter of fact Michigan Coach John BEILEIN said after the game " We Needed this win badly because we struggled for the 1st part of the season. Now we can make some noise down the stretch and get into the NCAA tournament. But we still have a Long way to go but this Upset win is what we needed badly. Going Forward I am very confident that we can Possibly be the Dark Horse that could steal the Big 10 championship."

Now Here's the Question in Madison, What's going on with the Badgers. Here's My take on Wisconsin, The Badgers have lost 2 in a row. They Lost to Northwestern of all teams. I know the Badgers are having issues with Injuries. Ethan HAPP said after the game " We can't win when I am the only player that can Score but I am playing my heart out and it's showing. But this was a Major Setback for our team and our hopes of getting a higher seed for the tournament. We can still win some games. But if we are going to make any noise in the NCAA tournament. We have to win the Big 10 tournament. And we can't win that if we are losing to teams like Northwestern and Michigan." Wisconsin faces Maryland at home Next Week and as it stands Right Now according to ESPN's Joe LUNARDI, Wisconsin is a 5 seed in the NCAA tournament. But that's going to take a hit Next Week as a result of this Loss to Michigan On Thursday Night.

The Wolverines Are now back in the Discussion for a Tournament Spot. Here's my take on Michigan, The Wolverines have shocked Wisconsin. They have also Won 3 straight. But their RPI is only 54, Their Strength of Schedule is only 42. And they are only 1-2 against the Top 25. They have a record of 17-9 and they are now 7-6 in the Big 10. But this win over No.11 Wisconsin On Thursday Night is going to look Really Great in March when The Committee makes their Selections for Selection Sunday. As it Stands Right Now, According to ESPN'S Joe LUNARDI he has Michigan as a 10 seed. But they are on the Bubble at the moment. But this Huge Upset Victory is a Major Help in Ann Arbor if Michigan wants to be in the Big Dance. Michigan Plays Minnesota on Sunday and as it stands Right Now Minnesota is a 7 seed for the Tournament with a 19-7 record and they have a identical record of 7-6 in the Big 10. So I am going to say it now folks, this game coming up on Sunday is going to have Very important Implications not Just for the Big 10 Seeding but for the NCAA Tournament.
